The sixth episode of DALS 6 aired live on December 5th and was watched by 4,5 million people. It was time to switch partners! The episode started with an Nsync-inspired performance by the profi dancers. Priscilla was paired with Yann-Alrick, the partner of Youtuber Enjoyphoenix and so in turn Christophe was partnered with Enjoyphoenix.
After the intro the song “Sway” by the PCD started to play, and it was time to start Priscilla’s section. Priscilla and Yann-Alrick met in a car and both seemed to be excited to be paired up. YA was a perfect switch partner for Priscilla IMO. At times YA seemed a bit impatient with Priscilla messing up, and there was a funny scene in the extra show when Priscilla made a funny face after YA walked off the practice floor. They seemed to have great chemistry otherwise. Christophe stopped by for a visit during the rehearsals.
In the beginning of the performance Priscilla slipped on the floor and almost fell. They probably missed a move, but it was barely noticeable – except on Yann-Alrick’s face, ha. They danced tango to “Sway”. Their dance was very sexy and one of my favorite performance in the whole season.
Priscilla was moved to tears during the feedback and was comforted by the host Sandrine Quétier.
Addition to the switch, the episode also had a duet dance with two couples. Priscilla lucked out for two reasons. Firstly ’cause her partner was Véronic DiCaire, who is a good dancer, and secondly ’cause their dance was super fun and the music was “Girls just wanna have fun”. You can’t go wrong with that! Also, they were dressed as college kids in mini skirts and college jackets. (Maybe later I’ll post what one other foursome wore. I don’t want to ruin this post with that ugly outfit. ;P)
When the Priscilla foursome was rehearsing, Priscilla and Véronic had to come up with some kind of moves for themselves (all contestant duos had to come up with moves for a short “solo duet”). Veronic had the idea of doing the same moves that Priscilla did in her “Tchouk Tchouk Musik” music video and performances some 12 years ago. Their dance was jive and it’s also one of my favorite performances in the whole show.
The other two foursomes were pretty bad, as they suffered from having one weak dancer in both of them. One of the judges (the tough one) gave them 4 and 5 points, when he gave a 9 to Priscilla and Veronic.
For the first dance Priscilla and YA received 40 points, from which 8 came from the viewers. Those were the third best scores (shared with Christophe and Enjoyphoenix) after Loïc Nottet and Véronic Dicaire. For the second dance the Priscilla foursome received 47 points (10,10,9,9 + 9 from the viewers.) In comparison, the two other foursome received 32 and 34 points. Nobody went home in this episode and the following episode will be a double elimination.
Next week, no dry eye in the house, as Priscilla dances for her mother and one of the eliminated contestants breaks everyone’s heart with their exit speech.
